Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, flexible schedule with core hours of 9am to 3pm

Contract: 1 Year Fixed Contract

Compensation: $40k - $50k (commensurate with experience)

About the Role:

The Junior Accountant focuses on supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting team. The F&A Team plays an important role in the operations and is integral to producing and maintaining financial information within RFRK. As the junior accountant, you will have the opportunity to gain insight into several areas of the business.

Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:

Finance Administration

Primary responsibilities include daily transactional processing of Accounts Payable and Receivable transactions including but not limited to:

  • Purchase Order processing
  • Vendor invoices and inquires
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Electronic payments and deposits
  • Daily receipts and payments
  • Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts - Parent and Subsidiaries 
  • Assists the Manager with performing monthly closing procedures including making journal entries, reviewing sub-ledger / general ledgers and preparing reports.
  • Customer invoice billings and inquires
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation 
  • Lead and update weekly cash flow meetings
  • Timely communication between customer / vendor / internal emails
  • Timely deliverable of month-end routines
  • Assist and coordinate with higher management for special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

About You

Must-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
  • 1-2 years experience in accounting fields and knowledge of intermediate accounting
  • Entry level to CPA
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with proven organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of accounting software is required and experience with Microsoft Dynamics / ERP will be an asset.
  • Positive attitude, with an ability to motivate others to get things done
  • Dedicated to continual success
  • Ability to read, write and speak English 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge or some experience in Cost Accounting
  • Knowledge of Google Suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
